DMail guide

Connect .dmail to your wallet

Learn how wallet records turn a memorable .dmail name into a Web3 payment and identity endpoint.

From hexadecimal to human-readable

A wallet address is precise but hard to remember. Freename domains support key/value records for token addresses, so a compatible resolver can look up a human-readable domain and return the configured wallet destination.

Typical setup

  1. Mint your .dmail domain.
  2. Open domain management in Freename.
  3. Add the token records you intend to use, such as ETH or BTC, using the format Freename currently supports.
  4. Save/sign the record update as required.
  5. Test the name in a compatible wallet or resolver with a small amount before relying on it for meaningful transfers.

Records can do more than payments

Freename’s FNS documentation describes records for tokens, website redirects, A/CNAME/TXT, owner/profile data, avatars and custom values. This is why a .dmail name can act as an identity container rather than a single-purpose address.

Payment safety: name resolution adds convenience, not a guarantee. Always verify the resolved address and network before sending funds.
