DMail guide
How to mint your .dmail domain
Understand the difference between buying and minting, then move your .dmail identity on-chain.
Buying is not minting
Freename explains that a purchase is first recorded in its platform database. Minting is the later step that publishes the domain to a supported blockchain and associates ownership/control with your wallet.
Minting workflow
- Buy the .dmail name on Freename.
- Open your Freename account and portfolio.
- Select the domain you want to mint.
- Choose from the chains currently offered for that asset.
- Connect or select a compatible non-custodial wallet if the interface requires it.
- Review the transaction and network shown by Freename.
- Confirm the mint action and wait for completion.
- After minting, configure records for wallet addresses, redirects, IPFS or profile data.
Wallet safety: never share a seed phrase or private key. Verify the domain, chain, wallet and transaction before signing.
Supported chains can change
Freename documentation has listed several supported networks over time, including Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Aurora, Cronos and newer integrations such as Base. The options displayed in your current Freename account are the source of truth.
